learning to LOVE with bumps in the Road

Sometimes on our journey in life we find that things aren't exactly how we planned them. Sometimes they are better…and sometimes they are worse. Life is funny that way and without the good and the bad it would just be boring. This blog is to be an encouragement to all who read it. I am not very old, but I have experienced life's funny mishaps too. If we look at our obstacles as bumps and not as mountains they are a whole lot easier to climb.

The same with people, if we look at people as children of God and not just someone we just met then we will be a lot more likely to love them. I know some people are hard to love you say. YES THEY ARE. I am a nurse and on occasion I run into those people…BUT you have to look at them as family. What if that were my mom, dad, sister, or brother? How would you treat them then? Different huh.
Yesterday I had a class and part of it was on emotional hijacking. Emotional what you say? This means that a persons conniptions (way of thinking) is overpowered by his or her emotions. A lot of times this looks like you say something to me and it makes me upset and then I yell at my husband cause I am upset at you but haven't controlled it enough to not transfer it to someone else. Sound familiar? If we learn to channel our emotion and we learn to truly love…IMAGINE what this world would be like?! I know it is difficult to like everyone but LOVE is stronger than liking. If we LOVE we have respect for them and see them as a child of God. After all we are all made in His image. Some fall away and some chose not to love Him, but those are the people who need our love most.
So next time someone upsets you or your emotions take over your thoughts…remember to step back and LOVE.

John 3:16-For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.

                                                                                                                          Love Lena

  1. It is so neat to learn different medical things like this that are practical to other areas. Being in control of your emotions is an important and rare life skill.
